Workflow
Within the master data maintenance and validation processes - especially in large enterprises in which teams are in charge of the process - additional requirements regarding workflow management occur.
OR Soft added a workflow management package to the master data maintenance software integrating process steps which are executed prior the generation of SAP ERP data. Within the software the complete process including data requisition, validation, logical check, assessment and generation of data in SAP ERP can be managed. Doing all relevant checks in advance of the generation of data in SAP ERP guarantees a high level of data quality.
Data validation is performed according to SAP internal check rules on a data field level even at a stage in which the data is not yet generated in SAP ERP. This ensures a smooth automatic data generation in the target SAP ERP system.
Workflows can be defined in special configuration browsers according to process needs and linked to special objects e.g. material master data of a special material group. In a workflow steps can be defined and linked according to several rules.
Examples for such links are:.
- Steps in a sequence – one step at a time
- Steps in parallel – several steps at the same time
- Conditioned steps – after one steps several steps are possible depending on a precondition
Every step can be assigned to single users or user groups enabling a detailed controlling of the complete process. Different message-systems like E-Mail information to pre-defined recipients is included. The software contains a status controlling for every workflow on a step level. The controlling functionality is completed with an alert-mechanism checking for example cycle times of workflow steps. Different KPIs – e.g. cycle time, status, last modifier – allow a process controlling and an acceleration of important release-steps.
